Turner County

The bad website featured today has a lot going on, including a really funny link called "How to Dispose of Traffic Citations."  For real?  We thought you were supposed to PAY them, but if disposal is an option, cool.

There's a link to 'Jail ATM' (motto: "Living without them is hard.  Showing you care isn't") where you can buy your inmate some snack packs ranging from Fiery Hot to Noodle Snack Pack.  We are not making this up.  Because nothing says "we miss you Dad!" like Ramen noodles and some Flaming Peanuts.

There's also a link to "sex offender WEBSITE."  NOT clicking on that.  Maybe we would if the link was to a sex offender REGISTRY.

Lastly, there's a proudly waving American Flag, a giant yellow stuffed animal relaxing on a settee, and what we all dread seeing in our rearview mirrors:  blinking light bars.

Thank goodness the price of doing business with this company is front and center - because would you pay more than $99 for a horrible website like this?  Well wait - it STARTS at $99.  But that's too much to pay for what you're looking at.

Four instances of Flash on the landing page, hard to read white text on bright blue and black, a tiny carousel of featured web (sic) sites, in a non-reponsive container.  All easy issues to tackle for improvement.

There's nothing on this website to make a visitor think "HEY - this looks like a GREAT choice to design our new website!"

Let's pretend that you design websites.  Professionally.  Would it be important to you, hypothetically, to have a kick-ass website with many examples of your work?  OF COURSE IT WOULD BE IMPORTANT!!

It's not important, apparently, to the owner(s) of today's bad website.  Not only is the site itself small, old and unresponsive, Featured Sites is a 404 Page Not Found!  An internal link to a free consultation also leads to a 404 page, as does a link to 'Contact us and let us handle your site hosting.'

There's nothing on this website to lead a vistor to believe the company actually CAN design a website, let alone a working one.

These days, the use of Flash on a website is an easy indicator of the age of the website.  No one with an iPhone could ever view the content, and unless you live in a $#!t-hole country, you'd realize that many many people have an iPhone.  Strike one.

There is an audio file playing.  Strike two.

To reserve a vehicle from this company, you may fill out a form on the website which includes fields for your credit card number including the CVV code.  ON AN UNSECURED WEBSITE.  Strike three.

Part of your online strategy should also be keeping an eye on reviews that have been left for your company, and responding (especially) to anything negative.  Many negative reviews exist for this company, none with a response from ownership.

Whether you are a person bothered by clutter or not,  this disorganized MESS is enough to throw a sane person into a fit of anxiety.  Where do you start!?

The center panel for News & Announcments would benefit from obvious date-stamping, and archiving articles as newer ones are added.  Upcoming Events on the left side are a paltry word or two, and not even clickable to get to more detail.

How about the right side?  Link after link after link which seem to duplicate the (normal) horizontal nav choices near the top.

If you tried to use this non-responsive website on a smartphone, you might cry.
